Mira Mesa Community Park Improvements Phase II
Background
The project will improve the approximately 17-acre Mira Mesa Community Park, located in the Mira Mesa community, Council District 6. This project aligns with the City Strategic Plan's Priority Areas & Outcomes: Protect & Enrich Every Neighborhood.
Project Overview
The project improvements include a new aquatic complex, all-wheels plaza, renovation of the existing recreation center, new children's play areas, basketball courts striped for pickleball, public art, expansion of the parking lot, upgraded security and sports lighting, landscaping, irrigation, and site furnishings. These upgrades will provide accessible, safe, and comfortable recreational facilities that foster interaction and promote well-being for the Mira Mesa community and beyond. The community will have equitable access to a network that will include robust services and programming that are tailored to their local needs and interests.

- Road closure
- A portion of New Salem St. between Mira Mesa Blvd. and Camino Ruiz will be closed Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily from Oct. 21 to Dec. 6. The road will be reopened nightly and from Nov. 2 to Nov. 5 to allow access to polling locations for the election.
- The east sidewalk on New Salem Street will remain open at all times for pedestrian access.
