Vicram ‘Vic’ Vettiyil
Director of Community Engagement
Vic, originally from Tucson, AZ, moved to San Diego in 2012 to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Public Health at UC San Diego (2016), later earning a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Arizona (2021). After graduating from UC San Diego, Vic delved into Public Health research until 2017 when he discovered a way to merge his interests in health equity and activism through political-based community outreach.
Prior to joining Councilmember Campillo's office, Vic held multiple community outreach roles on campaigns throughout Southern California, including those for Congressmembers Mike Levin (CA-49), Sara Jacobs (CA-51), and Congressman Gil Cisneros (CA-39), as well as Senator Elizabeth Warren's 2020 Presidential campaign.
As Director of Community Engagement, Vic oversees the Community Representative team, the Constituent Information Letter (CIL) program, proclamations, commendations, adjournments in memory, and the intern program. Additionally, he acts as the Community Representative for the Tierrasanta neighborhood and serves as a Policy Advisor on issues related to Mission Trails Regional Park.
Outside of work, Vic enjoys exploring San Diego trails with his partner, Beryl, and their pets, Kaido the dog and Olive the cat. When not exploring the City, he can be found cheering on the Padres, attending concerts, or catching a movie.
