Carrie Shah

Carrie Shah joins Councilmember Raul Campillo with a master’s in International Relations from American University, where she focused on International Development. During her master’s program, Carrie completed a practicum working as a water rights and reforestation policy analyst for Costa Rican activists. Carrie received her bachelor’s degree in International Global Studies from UNC-Greensboro. She completed a service year with AmeriCorps Vista as the outreach coordinator for a digital inclusion project focused on generating internet access for rural public housing families.
Upon moving to San Diego, Carrie worked as a nonprofit consultant with the San Diego Refugee Communities Coalition (SDRCC) assisting mental and behavioral health practitioners in servicing San Diego’s refugee community. She previously worked with the San Diego Community College District’s PATH Program in preparing community college students from underrepresented communities for transfer to UC San Diego. Carrie joins Team Campillo after previously working as a community representative for San Diego City Councilmember Joe LaCava.
