Stop Water/Wastewater Service

Submit a Request to Stop Service

This request includes starting your water/wastewater service at a new address, if needed. Before you start your request, please have the following information ready:

  • Name of the primary account holder.
  • Account number (if known).
  • Service address.
  • Phone number.
  • Email address.
  • Date to stop service.
  • Forwarding address for the final bill and/or other account correspondence.

Please note it can take up to seven business days to process your request to stop your water/wastewater service. We apologize for any delay and look forward to completing your request.

If you prefer, you can request to stop service by phone. NOTE: You may experience longer than normal hold times due to staffing shortages.

Frequently Asked Questions

I need to close my account. Can someone come to my property and read my meter so I can get a final read for my closing bill?

Due to staffing limitations, we cannot. Your final read will be estimated based on the history of water consumption at the property.

Will I be responsible for water used at the property after I close my account?

No. Once you close your account, you will no longer be responsible for water consumed at the property.

How soon can I submit my request to close my account?

You can request to close your account up to 30 days in advance of your move-out date.

I am moving out of my house at the end of the month. How can I close my account and get a final bill?

Submit a request to stop your service. Alternatively, you can call the Customer Support Division at 619-515-3500, and a team member will assist you. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays.
