All dental offices, regardless of whether amalgam waste is generated or not, must also submit a Dental Amalgam One-Time Compliance Report acknowledging that the office complies with 40 CFR 441.50—Reporting and recordkeeping requirements.

Dental offices that place or remove amalgam must operate under 40 CFR Part 441—Dental Office Point Source Category, maintain an amalgam separator, not discharge scrap amalgam, and not use certain kinds of line cleaners.
