Loop Drawing Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures Guide
The Loop Drawing Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures Guide has four main categories.
In-House Modifications
When work is performed on the existing facilities, plant staff is responsible for redlining any changes to the existing loop drawings based on the work to be performed in the field. Technical assistance will be provided by the IOS/CSAS Section. Once the work is completed, all final loop drawing redlines shall be forwarded to the IOS/CSAS Section and then on to the CADD Section, so that changes can be tracked and applied to the master electronic files. Once the changes are implemented and approved, the revised loop drawings will be reloaded onto the Distributed Control System (DCS). If any loop drawings are eliminated based on the work performed in the field, the list of deleted loops shall be forwarded from the plant staff to the IOS/CSAS Section so that the identified loops can be removed from the DCS. Deleted master loop drawings can then be archived from the servers.
In-House Creation
When work is performed on existing or new facilities and new loop drawings are required, plant staff is responsible for generating new loop drawings based on the work to be performed in the field. Technical assistance will be provided by the IOS/CSAS Section as needed or requested. Once the work is completed, final loop drawing redlines shall be forwarded to the IOS/CSAS Section and then on to the CADD Section so that the new loop drawings can be tracked and drafted. Once the new loop drawings are drafted and approved, they will be loaded onto the DCS.
Design Consultant/Contractor Modifications
When work is performed on the existing facilities, the design consultant/contractor is responsible for redlining any changes to the existing loop drawings based on the work to be performed in the field. Technical assistance will be provided by the IOS/CSAS Section as needed. The design consultant/contractor can obtain current electronic copies of the loop drawing from the IOS/CSAS Section. Once the work is completed, final loop drawing redlines shall be forwarded to the IOS/CSAS Section and then on to the CADD Section so that changes can be tracked and applied to the master electronic files. Once the changes are implemented and approved, the revised loop drawings will be reloaded onto the DCS. If any loop drawings are eliminated based on the work performed in the field, the list of deleted loops shall be forwarded from the design consultant/contractor to the IOS/CSAS Section so that the identified loops can be removed from the DCS. Deleted master loop drawings can then be archived from the servers.
In those cases where the design consultant/contractor is required to perform their own CADD modifications, the final loop drawing redlines shall go directly from the field to the design consultant´s/contractor´s home/field office for drafting. The completed loop drawings shall then be forwarded to the IOS/CSAS Section for review and approval. Once approved, the design consultant/contractor shall forward all final electronic copies of the loop drawings to the IOS/CSAS Section to replace the loop drawing files loaded onto the DCS and also to the CADD Section so that the new electronic files can replace the master electronic files on the file servers. The old files can then be archived from the file servers.
Design Consultant/Contractor Creation
