Batch Discharge Authorizations are used to approve non-recurring, short-duration discharges of industrial wastewater to sewer, not otherwise regulated by an existing Industrial User Discharge Permit. The requestor should contact the Industrial Wastewater Control Program before submitting a Batch Discharge Authorization Request form, for information on which constituents to analyze for.

Should the industry propose to discharge the wastewater through a City of San Diego manhole, a signed Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement must be submitted with the request form. Industries wishing to discharge to municipal manholes outside the City of San Diego must obtain agency approval to open those manholes in advance.
