Pay Equity Studies
Pay gaps are not unique to the City of San Diego. What is unique, however, is that the City of San Diego has set a standard for how municipalities can play a leading role in addressing this worldwide issue. To the best of the City’s knowledge, San Diego is the only municipality to have conducted and published pay equity research beyond basic differences in average pay. No other municipality has determined how much of the pay gap is attributed to occupational sorting, overtime, education, or parenthood. No other municipality has the knowledge that the City has; which means that no other city has the ability to make impactful change like San Diego.
