Having a SDPL card in hand gives users access to more than just books, DVDs and other library materials—they may also use SDPL’s online resources for career help, test preparation, education, etc. Cardholders can also use library computers, print and check out Wi-Fi hotspots or Chromebooks.

San Diego Access4All provides digital access and resources to the community by providing free Wi-Fi and internet access as well as laptop use at select library locations.

Career Development at the Library provides access to career development resources in one convenient place.

Peterson’s Test and Career Prep allows users to prepare for tests, download test handbooks, plan for higher education, explore career paths, build a resume, and access job interview tips.

SD Workforce Partnership provides employment support for individuals that have been involved in the justice system. 

Adult High School Diploma Program offers opportunities to adults who are looking to continue their education, expand their career opportunities or apply to enter the military. These programs are offered entirely online with 24/7 access to fit busy schedules. 

READ San Diego is a free literacy instruction service for adults 18 years and older. This award-winning program is staffed with literacy professionals, who work with community organizations and coordinate the efforts of volunteer reading tutors to teach adults to read and write, and improve literacy in San Diego.

Gale Courses offers a wide range of highly interactive, instructor-led courses that users can take entirely online. Online courses start every month and run for six weeks.

Adult Learning Center (Brainfuse) supports the goals of Adults that are returning to school, switching jobs, or seek to improve their academic skills by offering live tutoring, skills training, writing lab and test center, including GED and US Citizenship exams.

Rosetta Stone offers easy-to-use language courses in 30 languages.

Veterans Resource Center is comprised of trained volunteers to help veterans and their families find resources and connect to benefits they may be entitled to. 

Government Publications provides access to Federal, State, and Local Government Resources. Additional information is available for those seeking government resources related to US Citizenship, Legal Resources, Legal Forms, and Voting.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) 

San Diego’s mission is to share information and to end the stigma associated with mental illness. NAMI offers a Helpline, support groups, educational meetings, newsletters, a lending library, and several classes on mental illness held at various locations throughout San Diego County.

Tax Forms and Assistance are available to help users prepare their income tax returns.
