Hardy Elementary Joint Use Facility General Development Plan Amendment

Project Background

This project provides for the design and construction of new improvements at an existing joint use facility at Hardy Elementary School which is located at 5420 Montezuma Road within the College Community, within Council District 9.

The General Development Plan (GDP) inclusive of the environmental document, design, and construction of the joint use facility improvements is funded by the San Diego Unified School District through the use of voter-approved Propositions S and Z and Measure YY bond funding.

Scope of Work

This project includes the approval of a General Development Plan (GDP) Amendment through community engagement that includes the following:

  • Multi-purpose natural turf field
  • Walking track
  • Parking lot

Hardy Elementary will undergo a comprehensive Whole Site Modernization funded by San Diego Unified School District that will include modifications to the joint-use field. Proposed amendments to the Hardy Joint-Use Field General Development Plan include reducing the size of the field, removing the ballfield backstop, adding a walking track to the perimeter of the field and including the parking lots in the joint-use area.
