SPECIAL PLAY OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2026

A Special Play Opportunity, also known as a Public Shotgun, is a shotgun-format golf event open to residents. In a shotgun start, all groups begin play at the same time from different holes, creating a shared event experience and allowing all players to finish around the same time.

Because these events are limited,  advance planning and timely registration are essential to secure participation.  

What makes this even more special is that booking fees for these events are waived for residents.

Instructions:

Residents must download the SD City Golf App and enable push notifications in order to receive the registration notification and the link to register.

Tee times will be issued upon availability and on a first-come, first-served basis.

IMPORTANT!  Submitting a registration or waitlist request does not guarantee a tee time allotment. If you do not receive an email with a confirmed tee time allotted to you, it means you have not been selected.

  Golf Division staff will send out an email to confirm your tee time.

Once filled, a waitlist option will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Players on the waitlist will be notified of any cancellations.
