Since opening at its current location in 1994, Mira Mesa Library has one of the largest collections in the San Diego Public Library system, with items in multiple languages, including Tagalog, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Vietnamese and Spanish. The 20,000-square-foot facility offers children's programs, a teen center and special events throughout the year. Artist Larry Kirkland created the piece "Three Rings" attached to several pillars inside the library featuring the themes Wonder, Explore, Search and Nurture in words and images.
