Participants may register for only one session due to high demand.
Ages: 6–12
Fee: $25 per session
Apply at the Center for these following days:

  • Session 1 (Fridays): 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Activity Code: 130778)
  • Session 2 (Fridays) Required to have taken Gymnastics Winter 25': 6:15 PM – 7:15 PM (Activity Code: 130779)
  • Session 3 (Saturdays): 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Activity Code: 130780)
  • Session 4 (Saturdays) Required to have taken Gymnastics Winter 25': 12:15 PM – 1:15 PM (Activity Code: 130781)

Parks After Dark

When: Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays
Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Cost: Free
A free, family-oriented program hosted behind the gymnasium at Officer Jeremy Henwood Memorial Park located at City Heights Recreation Center during the summer. Enjoy arts & crafts, activities for all ages, community resources, entertainment, live music, and free food/dessert for the first 200 kids (while supplies last).

History of the Center

The Mid-City Gymnasium opened in 1996 due to strong community organization and effort. It was part of the first phase of City Heights Urban Village, bringing together several opportunities for recreation and education in one location.


Directions and Bus Route

Map this location

From Interstate 8, take Interstate 15 south, and exit at University Avenue. Turn left on University and right on 43rd Street. The gym is located on the left-hand side after the stop sign.

From Interstate 805, take Interstate 15 north, exit at University Ave. Turn right at University and right on 43rd Street. The gym is located on the left-hand side after the stop sign.

The gym is accessible by bus via SDMTS Routes 7, 10 and 13.
