Boards & Committees
Boards, Committees, and Recreation Groups
Overview
The Parks and Recreation Department receives public input on a wide variety of issues, such as general park operations, proposed park improvements, park capital and operational funding, recreational programming, events, and related topics. Several Boards and Commissions are established under San Diego Municipal Code Section 26.30, while Council Policy 700-42 authorizes community recreation groups to provide feedback on local recreation issues and concerns. Some open space areas operate under a joint exercise of powers agreement, while others have a nonprofit or other group to provide input to the City on open space operations and maintenance. These groups are responsible for carrying out the duties of Council Policy 600-33 associated with public input for park development projects.
Live meetings are available at the City's Public Meetings YouTube channel.
As an alternative to attending the meetings, members of the public may submit comments on any agenda item or non-agenda public comment using the Meeting Agenda Public Comment Form. Written comments will be made available in writing to members of the board or committee, but it will not be read during the meeting.
