Paul Marttila
Paul has enjoyed a long career in international business and economic development. Currently the president of Business Location Dynamics LLC, an international site selection and incentives consultancy, Paul has held other senior positions in both the public and private sectors. He served as Managing Director of European Operations for the State of Pennsylvania (based in London and Brussels) and Senior VP of Business Development for Enterprise Florida, the state's economic development agency. Paul was an international consulting partner at Andersen LLP, a national tax partner at BDO LLP, and the president of the US subsidiary of an European firm. In addition, at the San Diego Association of REALTORS, he led two departments, both of which received national awards for program excellence in consecutive years.
To date, Paul has worked as an expatriate in three countries for over 14 years and conducted business in 45 countries on five continents. He has been a trusted advisor to many Fortune 500 firms (including Bayer, FedEx, GM, H-P, Heineken, Oracle and P&G) and to governments in Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands, Portugal, and The UK.
Paul is a board director for the San Diego World Affairs Council and a member of The Global Chamber and The Global Leaders, among many other groups. He earned the designation of Senior Global Business Leader from the International Executives Resources Group. Paul also received the Certified International Property Specialist designation from the National Association of REALTORS. In addition to running his own consulting practice, he serves as a subject matter expert for the consulting firms ProdigyWorks (formerly MENSA Process) and The Gerson Lehrman Group.
Paul earned his M.A. in International Affairs from the Patterson School of Diplomacy & International Commerce (UK) and his B.A. in Economics and Government from Franklin & Marshall College.
