Brian D'Amico
Brian is an aviation and international travel expert with a decade of experience marketing city brands to enhance their global reach. He has worked with dozens of airports and communities around the country building thousands of business cases to support critical new and enhanced air transportation access. As the Program Manager of Air Service Development at San Diego International Airport (SAN) he has helped support the launch of over thirty new nonstop routes from San Diego in the last three years. In his current capacity Brian routinely promotes San Diego to the world, meeting with domestic and foreign air carriers to expand SAN’s offering of nonstop flights while at the same time developing international partnerships across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Brian serves as the Airport Staff Liaison for the World Trade Center San Diego, working as an airport representative in partnership with the City, the EDC, and the Port of San Diego to grow San Diego’s access to international markets. He also serves as an International Air Service Committee Member at Airports Council International – North America, where he monitors how trends in global policy and events are impacting travel around the world.
Brian earned his master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and his bachelor’s degree in Humanities & Spanish from Franciscan University. An east coast transplant, Brian has been thrilled to call San Diego home since 2018, a place he tells everyone is the “quintessential California city.” He is passionate about advancing the IAB’s efforts to promote San Diego’s identity abroad and is honored to be among such an esteemed group of people working to foster greater cultural connections and international competitiveness.
