Summary

The Central Commercial Maintenance Assessment District was established by Resolution R- 201471 of the City Council on August 8, 2000. The District was formed in compliance with the provision of Proposition 218. An assessment ballot proceeding was conducted and the formation of the District was passed by assessment payers.

The District is located in the Southeastern San Diego Community Planning Area and includes:

  • Imperial Avenue from Interstate 5 to 32nd Street
  • Commercial Avenue from Interstate 5 to 28th Street
  • National Avenue from 28th Street to 32nd Street
  • All side streets in between Imperial Avenue and Commercial Avenue between Interstate 5 and 28th Street

The District, through the levy of special assessments, provides funding for ongoing maintenance, litter abatement, graffiti removal, and other services located within the District’s public rights-of-way. The City of San Diego manages the District and contracts with Urban Corps of San Diego County to provide services.
