Fairmount Avenue Area Fire Station

Project Description

This project provides for the design and construction of a new permanent fire station of approximately 14,273 square feet. The facility will accommodate an apparatus bay and a crew of ten fire personnel, onsite surface parking, dorm rooms, kitchen, watch room, ready room, station alerting system, IT data network, wet and dry utilities, electrical, mechanical and all other necessary infrastructure associated with this project. The project site is located east of Interstate 805 adjacent to the corner of 47th Street and Fairmount Avenue on a 1.28-acre site. The facility's key function is to meet the San Diego Fire Department’s operational needs and response times for the growing community of Mid-City/City Heights in council districts 4 and 9.

Anticipated Schedule 

An updated project schedule will be provided as the EIR process moves forward. The project's potential design and construction are contingent upon the results of the EIR.
