Time trials are known as the race of truth, it is the cyclist against the clock. Athletes select category and distance, 3 laps (20km) or 6 laps (40km) around Fiesta Island, juniors will ride one or two laps. Single riders, tandems, and teams all compete for top honors and island records. An awards ceremony will be held after the last athlete finishes. Top six finishers in each category will be eligible to earn points towards series competition. Awards will be given to series winners at the last race of the series. The race is held rain or shine! Fiesta Island Time Trial Fiesta Island Time Trials is San Diego's original time trial series since 1968, sponsored by San Diego Bicycle Club. Time trials are known as the race of truth, it is the cyclist against the clock. Athletes select category and distance, 3 laps (20km) or 6 laps (40km) around Fiesta Island, juniors will ride one or two laps. Single riders, tandems, and teams all compete for top honors and island records. An awards ceremony will be held after the last athlete finishes. Top six finishers in each category will be eligible to earn points towards series competition. Awards will be given to series winners at the last race of the series. The race is held rain or shine! There are 150 riders maximum per day, and the event sells out very early. Entry is on a first come, first served basis. Sign up early online at WebScorer.com at a discounted price. Registration the day of the race is at full price. The registration table opens at 6:00 AM and closes at 6:45 AM. First racer is off at 7:00:30 AM subsequent racers start at 30 second intervals.
