My name is James Earnest. I just completed my 35th summer on the beach as a seasonal lifeguard with the last 30 being for the City of San Diego. I am a high school teacher where I have had the opportunity to train young people in theatre, English and Broadcasting as well as to coach them in both swimming and water polo. I also work for Miramar College as an instructor for the San Diego Regional Lifeguard Academy. I have been married for 30 years and have two grown sons, one a former lifeguard and another a firefighter. I enjoy hiking, gardening and cooking. I look forward to being able to help colleagues in any way that I can.
