The Board prepares an annual report of its activities and participates in many other voluntary historic preservation programs and events in the various communities of San Diego. The HRB also has three standing subcommittees – the Policy Subcommittee, the Design Assistance Subcommittee, and the Archaeological and Tribal Cultural Resources Subcommittee. The Heritage Preservation section provides support to the HRB, including staffing, training, distribution of materials, and record keeping and reporting.
