This Amendment to Community Plans within the Coastal Zone will allow for mobility projects that repurpose existing streets and other public rights-of-way for more sustainable, equitable and safe mobility coastal access options without the need for Coastal Certification.
Strategic Plan Priority Areas of Focus
This initiative focuses on the following priority areas of the Strategic Plan:
Advance Mobility & Infrastructure
Streamlines project review for mobility projects like bike lanes that access the coast within existing streets and public-right of way.
Champion Sustainability
Allowing a more streamlined approval process for sustainable modes of transit will enable more people to access the coast without a car and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with citywide climate goals.
