About North Park

The community of North Park encompasses approximately 2,258 acres located in the central portion of the City of San Diego. North Park is geographically defined by its location on a broad mesa top interspersed with prominent hillsides and canyons along its northern boundary adjacent to Mission Valley and its southeastern boundary adjacent to Golden Hill.  Balboa Park abuts the community on the southwest.

North Park is one of the older urbanized communities in the City of San Diego with original subdivisions being recorded just after the turn of the 20th century. The built environment of North Park includes prominent commercial corridors that transition to surrounding multi-family and single-family residential neighborhoods.  North Park is a dynamic urban community of thriving neighborhoods with a diversity of housing, vibrant commercial districts, and an evolving arts community.

North Park is in Council District 3.
