Roberto Salas is a multidisciplinary visual artist/musician whose work addresses a wide breadth of traditional and experimental approaches. He earned his BFA in Studio Art from the University of New Mexico and an MFA in Visual Arts from the University of California San Diego. Salas connects with his native roots through his art; he uses his passion for global travel and the study of diverse art/cultures to influence his art. His goal is to create intergenerational work, cross economic divisions, and speak to a local audience of similar yet unique life experiences. He continues to experience working within diverse cultural packets and disenfranchised communities, such as in the Arctic Circle, in the deep south of Louisiana, in Bali, Indonesia, and Mexican villages. Salas provides a positive experience to communities of diverse populations, who may rarely frequent art institutions to experience visual arts.
