Program Coordinator

Alex Tang joined the Performance & Analytics Department in November 2020 as a Program Coordinator in the Performance Management division.

Prior to joining the City of San Diego, Alex worked as an analyst for an electric vehicle research center, where he gathered, cleaned, and analyzed large datasets to understand travel patterns of households with electric vehicles. Additionally, Alex served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft electrician for F-15E Strike Eagles, including completing a tour in Kuwait during Operation Enduring Freedom.

After serving in the military, Alex earned a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from University of California, Davis and an MBA - with an emphasis in Business Analytics - from California State University, San Marcos. Since moving to San Diego, Alex has developed a deep appreciation of the diverse communities and delicious food. You can find him on most weekends playing frisbee with his dog, Lumo.
