Ike Anyanetu
Mr. Anyanetu is a co-founder of San Diego Privacy -- a community organization focused on advancing the practice and understanding of privacy in the lives of San Diegans. He has a decade of industry experience in technology. He worked among other community members to understand privacy-related concerns surrounding the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 and then helped create a community guide to understanding the CPRA.
Mihir Bellare
Dr. Bellare is an expert in cryptography with experience in evaluating privacy-related concerns, risks, and solutions. Specifically, he co-developed cryptography that is in daily use to secure internet communications. Dr. Bellare is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). He earned his Bachelor of Science from Caltech and his Ph.D. from MIT.
Robert Lee Brown
Dr. Brown is an Adjunct Faculty conducting extensive research in Program Management at SDSU Graduate Homeland Security Program, his research efforts involve executive leadership coaching in relationship building for CEOs, US military executive leadership, law enforcement, elected officials-politicians, university leadership, media, and school superintendents. Dr. Brown also examines individual best practices for mediating, cultivating and improving organizational and community-based, cross-cultural, and cross-generational understanding. In addition, he offers law enforcement oversight, collaboration reform, and human resources-risk management functional designs, which require extensive successful inter/intra personal intelligence, equity-diversity-inclusion competencies, operational auditing, and regulatory compliance to help entities succeed.
Lee Duran
Mr. Duran is a certified public accountant (CPA) with over 30 years of professional experience serving various technology and service industries. He recently retired as an assurance services partner of the San Diego office of BDO. Prior to joining BDO, Mr. Duran was the partner in charge of the financial services international assurance practice in the Tokyo office of a Big Four firm. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the San Diego State University School of Accountancy Advisory Board Chair. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from San Diego State University and a master’s degree in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Taura Gentry-Kelso
Ms. Kelso is a Software Architect and Project Manager at UC San Diego. Prior to working at UC San Diego, she worked as in data conversion for the United States Postal Service. She specializes in software architecture, software security, and security software application training. She is a Certified Application Security Professional, Credentialed Software Instructor, and Cyber Security Corporate Compliant.
Cid Martinez
Dr. Martinez is an associate professor of Sociology at the University of San Diego and a published author. His research and teaching focus on criminology, policing, urban politics, immigration, and race relations. His current research explores police-community relations and urban violence in southern and northern California. Dr. Martinez received his Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California at Berkeley.
Pegah Parsi
Ms. Parsi is the inaugural chief privacy officer for UC San Diego. In this role, she spearheads the privacy and data protection efforts for the research, educational, and service enterprise of over 40,000 students and 30,000 employees. Prior to San Diego, Pegah was a privacy manager at Stanford University, focusing on medical studies and international collaborations. Ms. Parisi earned her master’s in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore and her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law.
Paul Khalid Alexander
Mr. Alexander is an English professor at San Diego City College. He is the president and founder of Pillars of the Community, a nonprofit community organization that embraces and celebrates the historic, rich, and diverse culture of Southeastern San Diego through community organizing, leadership development, and strategic partnerships. Mr. Alexander has a Master of Art in comparative literature from San Diego State University and was a Fulbright scholar in Damascus, Syria.
