Organic Waste Recycling

Homes, Condos, Apartments & Businesses

Homes Serviced by the City
The City of San Diego is proud to provide weekly Organic Waste Recycling collection services to homes serviced by the City’s Environmental Services Department.
Kitchen pails were delivered to all City-serviced residences, and green bins delivered to City-serviced residences that have not previously been provided with a green bin.
Additional green bin size options are 35-gallon, 65-gallon and 95-gallon. All bin requests can be made on the Get It Done app at sandiego.gov/get-it-done or by calling 858-694-7000.
To begin your organic waste, place your green bin on the street, next to the curb, in front of your residence along with your trash (black) and recycling (blue) bins on your designated collection day. You can find your designated collection day by visiting Get It Done.
