SAN DIEGO – Mayor Todd Gloria and City Council President Sean Elo-Rivera issued the following joint statement regarding progress on lease negotiations for a commercial building on Kettner Boulevard that could shelter 1,000 people experiencing homelessness, discussed in closed session on Monday:

“We continue to negotiate aggressively on behalf of San Diegans as we consider new and impactful solutions to address homelessness. All of us recognize leaving people on the street is inhumane and bad for everyone, including our housed residents, and we must continue to act with urgency to end this crisis.”
