SAN DIEGO Mayor Todd Gloria tomorrow will tour the San Ysidro Port of Entry PedWest vaccination site that has been set up to vaccinate thousands of Baja California residents. This comes as Mayor Gloria continues to advocate for an end to cross-border travel restrictions as COVID-19 cases decrease.
This vaccination site is additional proof of our commitment to the health and safety of Americans and Mexican nationals alike, Mayor Gloria said. As the rate of COVID-19 cases continue to plummet, and other restrictions have been lifted, I see no reason to continue selective restrictions that impact our cross-border community.
San Diego businesses that traditionally relied on cross-border commerce, like those near the San Ysidro Port of Entry, have struggled to survive as land border crossings have remained closed to nonessential travel.
