What's Coming
15th Annual MLK Day Community Celebration and Sportsfest
Join us in celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at his namesake park in beautiful Southeast San Diego for the 15th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration and Sportsfest on Saturday, January 25th, 2025. The Community Celebration starts at 11:00am and will feature local politicians, performers, dance groups, food and merchandise vendors, a kids zone, health & wellness pavilion and more!
This is a FREE Family friendly event for the whole community. All completed Performer or Vendor applications must be submitted to MLKDay@sandiego.gov by January 10th, 2025. Please email MLKDay@sandiego.gov or call Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center at (619) 527-3415 for more information.

History of the Center
The center was built in 1986 on previously vacant land.
Directions and Bus Route
From Interstate 805 take the Imperial Avenue exit and head east, make a right on to Valencia Street and then left on to Skyline Drive. The center is on your right.
From state Route 54 take the Woodman Street exit, head north to Skyline Drive and turn left. The center is on your left.
The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS route 11.
