Nearly 41 percent (40.8%) of the population, ages 5 or older, speaks a language other than English at home. (That's nearly double the national average of 21.1percent). The percentage of foreign-born persons is 26.5 percent, more than double the U.S. percentage (13.2 percent).

1.54 million, with 3.54 million people in the entire county. By 2030, the City's population is forecast to be 1.69 million, with 3.54 million people in the county. By 2040, the City's population is forecast to be 1.82 million, with 4.16 million people in the county. By 2050, the City's population is forecast to be 1.95 million, with 4.38 million people in the county. The City of San Diego is a member of SANDAG.
