What does the Economic Development Department do?
The Economic Development Department leads the City's efforts in Real Estate Services, Airport Management, Community and Business Engagement, and Strategic Partnerships. The Department implements four key goal areas identified in the Economic Development Strategy that 1) support workers and families; 2) support small and local businesses; 3) bolster trade and innovation; and 4) strengthen neighborhoods.
What does the Real Estate and Airports sections do?
The Real Estate and Airport sections oversees a diverse portfolio of owned and leased property, developed and undeveloped, from Mission Bay to San Pasqual Valley and all points in between, including: two municipal airports, Balboa Park, and PETCO Park to name a few.
