Cap - USS San Diego LPD-22, a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock, the fourth Navy ship to be named for San Diego. The ship is designed to deliver a fully equipped 699-man Marine battalion. She launched on 7 May 2010, christened on 12 June, completed acceptance trials 17 November 2011, and was delivered to the Navy on 19 December 2011. (S-403 is a duplicate, presented in December 2011). This was presented to the Mayor by US Navy Col. Jon Haydel in 2010.
