Marble paperweight, 3-1/2 x 4 inches with a door key affixed to the top. The plate reads: 'Key to the Convention Center, San Diego Unified Port District, November 24,1989'. The Convention Center, located at 111 West Harbor Drive in the Marina District of Downtown San Diego, was designed by Canadian architect Arthur Erickson. Construction began in 1987 and it opened on November 24, 1989. This was donated by the Unified Port District to commemorate the center's opening.
