Metal 3-inch paperweight, with the logo of the Naval Training Center. NTC San Diego (1923-1997) is a former Navy base on San Diego Bay. The site is on the National Register of Historic Places, and many of the structures are designated as historic by the City of San Diego. The base was closed by the Base Realignment and Closure 1993 commission. It is now the site of Liberty Station, a mixed-use community being redeveloped and repurposed by the City.
