The screen painting is powder blue in color with an overall size of 67 x 22-1/2 inches. The artist was Chang Dai-chien (1899-1983), one of the best-known and most prodigious Chinese artists of the twentieth century. The picture itself is 32-1/4 x 17-3/4 inches and shows a red flowerbed plant that resembles a water lily with Chinese writing along the left edge of the picture. Donated by the City of Taichung, San Diego's Sister City in Taiwan since 1983.
