Tuesday’s Council Meeting features a discussion on the Cannabis Equity Assessment and Program Development.  Councilmembers will also consider an appeal of a Planning Commission decision to approve a wireless facility with a 66-foot-tall faux mono-eucalyptus tree with nine antennas.

Item 30 - Women’s Tennis Association 500 San Diego Open Week celebrates the first time a tournament of the highest level of professional play comes to the City of San Diego.


 


Item 31 - Rancho Peñasquitos Library 30th Anniversary Day honors the library, staff and supporters who have served Rancho Peñasquitos and the surrounding community for three decades.


 


Item 32 – Captain Alma Lowry Day celebrates this Fire Captain’s more-than two decades of public service to the City of San Diego.


 


Item 33 - 45 Years of Women in the San Diego Fire Department Day honors 45 years of women in the San Diego Fire Department.

Item 330 - Authorization for the Public Facilities Financing Authority of the City of San Diego 2023A Water Revenue Bonds – PFFA Companion Item FA 1 - A resolution of the Authority authorizing the issuance of its 2023 Water Revenue Bonds in one or more series, in a principal amount not to exceed $300 million and the execution of related financing documents and actions


 


Marijuana ScaleItem 331 - Cannabis Equity Assessment and Program Development – The draft revised Cannabis Equity Assessment was made public on July 8, 2022 for a 30- day public review period. City staff also held a virtual public meeting on July 12, 2022 to present the draft Cannabis Equity Assessment to the public. This item would approve a resolution adopting the City of San Diego’s first Cannabis Equity Assessment.


 


 


Wireless Antennae


Item 332 - T-Mobile A Street Project Appeal - Project No. 687321 – This item is an appeal of a Planning Commission decision to approve a new Wireless Communication Facility located at 4907 A Street consisting of a 66-foot-tall faux mono-eucalyptus tree with nine antennas and associated equipment within the Eastern Area Community of the Mid-City Community Planning area.


 


 


Item 333 - Ordinance Approving Changes to Civil Service Rule XI, Section 5(a)(3) and Section 5(b), and San Diego Municipal Code Sections 23.1202, 23.1204, 23.1205, 23.1206, 23.1207 and 23.1208 Relating to Employee Resignation, Removal, Suspension, and Reduction in Compensation, to Allow Virtual Appeal Hearings – These actions are to approve amending Civil Service Rule XI, Section 5(a)(3) and Section 5(b), and San Diego Municipal Code sections to allow the Civil Service Commission to require disciplinary appeal hearings to be conducted virtually during a proclaimed local, state, or federal state of emergency or when meeting in person would present imminent risks to the health or safety of attendees.


 


Housing Authority Agenda


 


HA 1 - State of California Housing and Community Development Local Housing Trust Fund Program Project Revision – This item would approve a resolution amending Attachment 1, which was adopted by and incorporated into by reference the City of San Diego Housing Authority Resolution HA-1903 (April 13, 2021), to replace the Hilltop & Euclid Family Apartments project with Community HousingWorks’ Cortez Hill project for use of the State of California’s Local Housing Trust Fund Program funds.


 


HA 2 - Tentative Agreement for a Memorandum of Understanding with Service Employees International Union, Local 221 – Approve the Tentative Agreement for a Memorandum of Understanding between the San Diego Housing Commission and Service Employees International Union, Local 221 for represented employees for Fiscal Years 2023 and 2024 and related actions.
