The last City Council Meeting of the year will set the new Council Committees and their compositions. Councilmembers will also consider appointments by Mayor Todd Gloria and Councilmembers to Outside Organizations for the coming year. Special Meeting of the City Council – December 14, 2022 - 12:30 p.m.
Item 600 - Confirming the Selection of a Council President Pro Tem, Standing Council Committee Assignments, and Appointment of Councilmembers to the Audit Committee for Calendar Year 2023 – This item includes three actions:
- Adoption of a resolution confirming the selection of a Council President Pro Tem.
- Adoption of a resolution confirming the appointments of Councilmembers to the standing Council Committees.
- Adoption of a resolution confirming the appointments of two Councilmembers to the Audit Committee.
Item 601 - Confirming the Appointments of Mayor Todd Gloria and Councilmembers to Outside Organizations for Calendar Year 2023 – Each year the City appoints elected officials to serve as representatives, alternates and liaisons to various outside boards, commissions, committees, and governmental agencies. This item would adopt a resolution confirming the appointments of Mayor Todd Gloria and Councilmembers to outside organizations for calendar year 2023.
Item 602 - 2023-2024 State and Federal Legislative Platform - The 2023-2024 State and Federal Legislative Platform defines the City of San Diego’s Guiding Principles and Policy Priorities, and provides a means to advance and protect the City’s interests on issues at the federal and state levels. The Guiding Principles and Policy Priorities allow for flexibility so that the Department of Government Affairs, City officials, and our legislative advocates can be proactive and quickly respond within the defined boundaries of the program to address legislative, regulatory, administrative, and budget issues that arise during the year.
