Chaplain Joe Patino grew up in the Los Angeles area until he moved to the San Diego area in 1988. In L.A. County Chaplain Patino worked as an EMT and dispatcher for a private ambulance co. Joe also went to nursing school and received his LVN in 1981.  After moving to San Diego Joe worked for Hartsons, American and Rural Metro as a medical 911 dispatcher until he was hired as a 911 fire and medical dispatcher in October of 1997. He currently works in the ECDC for San Diego Fire & Rescue.  Joe has been married to his wife for 30 years. He also raised 2 kids here in San Diego. He has 1 daughter and one son.   Joe has taken numerous CISM / Chaplaincy training courses that have helped him in his journey as a chaplain. He completed a Pastoral Crisis Intervention as well as the ICISF course - Group Crisis Intervention, Peer Support class and another Peer Support training through the I.A.F.F. Chaplain Joe is a commissioned minister/chaplain and is committed to serving those in emergency services who are on the front lines in San Diego County, whether on scene or at dispatch.  Joe’s experience also includes mentoring men of all ages. He spends time doing hospital visits to the sick and injured. He is also active at his church working on the security team as a first aid medic during services.
