In-House Programming
The Canyonside Recreation Center offers several staff-operated programs, including Coding Class, Spikeball, Jr. Sports Club, Kid’s Science Class and Woodshop. The center also has Bright Beginnings Preschool, Maggie’s Art (art class and afterschool program) and skate classes and camps from SD Skatelife. For more information, please see the Program Guide.
Neighborhood Parks
In addition to the facility and fields at Canyonside Community Park, center staff also oversee multiple neighborhood parks in the Rancho Peñasquitos area, including Rolling Hills, Views West, Peñasquitos Creek, Ridgewood, Rancho Peñasquitos Skate Park, Black Mountain Ranch, Twin Trails, Adobe Bluffs and Linear Off-Leash Dog Park. History of the Center
The recreation center was dedicated on November 30, 1993 to serve the residents of the community.
Directions and Bus Route
From Interstate 15, exit Mercy Road and travel west. Turn right on Black Mountain Road. Turn left at the first light, Canyonside Park Road. The center is located next to the Rancho Peñasquitos Preserve which offers trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding.
The center is not accessible by bus.
