SAN DIEGO With California lifting most of its public health restrictions and allowing businesses to reopen at full capacity today, Mayor Todd Gloria issued the following statement:

Weve arrived at this long-anticipated day in part due to San Diegos resiliency and everyone who wore their masks, stayed socially distant and got vaccinated to stop the spread of COVID-19. I want to thank all of the healthcare workers, essential workers, and first responders especially our City employees who have worked tirelessly to help get us through this pandemic. I ask everyone to be patient with and look out for one another as we heal from the emotional trauma of the past year and return to a sense of normalcy. We have proven that as a community we can overcome unprecedented challenges, which gives me hope for our recovery and the opportunities that lie ahead for all of us.
