Parks and Recreation Offers Robust Lineup of Fall Activities

Rec leader and children.

As summer winds down, many families and community members are looking for fun, low-cost activities to enjoy this Fall. The City of San Diego’s Parks and Recreation Department launched registration today for activities and classes taking place in September, October and November and there might be something for you in the lineup of Fall season programming!

Classes and activities are available at sites across the City and are available for community members of all ages, from youth to senior citizens. Many programs are low-cost or free for participants. Information on the Fee Waiver Program can be found here.

Activities take place at all City recreation centers, along with programming from AgeWell Services, Therapeutic Recreation Services, Civic Dance Arts and more. There are sports leagues, arts and crafts, cooking classes, cheer, ceramics, martial arts, science classes, gardening, meditation, creative writing, and so much more!

Kids looking for something to do after school may want to check out one of the many after-school programs available, as well as special day camps taking place over the Fall break around Thanksgiving. There is even a special class called “Slime Time,” where kids can learn all sorts of fun things they can do with slime, a LEGO club and bubble day! There really is something for everyone.

Registration is currently open for all programs, leagues and classes on sdrecconnect.com. Participants can also visit their local recreation center to register for programs or see their program guide online. Information about AgeWell Services programming (for those 60 and better) is here, Therapeutic Recreation Services (for community members with disabilities) is here, and Civic Dance Arts is here.

Also, keep an eye out for information about special Fall Festivals happening at parks and rec centers across the city in October and November. Follow the Parks and Recreation Department event calendar for current events by clicking here.
