Funding Opportunities
The Economic Development Departments offers a variety of funding opportunities for businesses and non-profit organizations. Funding can be through grants, loans, incentives, and rebate programs so be sure to identify the proper funding source for your organization's needs.

Nonprofit Grant Opportunities:
CDBG: The CDBG program primarily funds project to nonprofits that provide assistance to low-income populations.
Capacity Building: Grants to nonprofits that support small businesses in under-resourced communities.
Economic Development Funding: Grants for nonprofits to promote San Diego as a business and tourism destination.
San Diego Promise Zone Financial Assistance: One time micro grants (under $10,000) for nonprofits to support efforts of Promise Zone partners advancing the goals of the area.
Business Incentive and Rebate Opportunities:
Business Cooperation Program: Program to encourage inclusive economic growth through the expansion, attraction, and retention of small and mid-sized firms in San Diego's base sector economy.
Fee Payment Incentive: Reimbursement program for businesses to recoup certain City SDS fees paid by the business associated with submitting and securing required building permit entitlements.
Outdoor Business Grant: Supports businesses working to create outdoor dining spaces that contribute to the enjoyment of the public environment.
Storefront Improvement Program (SIP): The SIP is a reimbursement based program that provides design assistance and financial incentives to small business owners and tenants.
