Statue of a Mexican Vaquero (Cowboy) in Presidio Park. To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the presidio (fort) at San Diego, Mexican President Gustavo Diaz Ordaz visited in November 1970 and brought a gift - this bronze statue of an 18th century Spanish horseman wearing a sombrero. The Presidio was founded in May 1769.
