There is limited capacity for access and parking at December Nights. It is highly recommended that you consider other transportation options if available to you; should you choose to drive to the event, we recommend purchasing your parking in advance to secure your spot. In addition, there are free and paid parking options that are serviced by free December Nights event shuttles that take you to the event entrance at El Prado and the Cabrillo Bridge!

Paid Parking Options in Balboa Park

LOT A, General Paid Parking

$25 in advance, $30 at the event

Located at Inspiration Point, the General Paid Parking lot will be open to the public at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6th and at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7th. We recommend accessing the lot from northbound Park Blvd. Check back later for a link to buy your parking.

LOT B, Preferred Paid Parking

$40 in advance, $45 at the event

Located at the Federal Lot, the Preferred Paid Parking lot will be open to the public at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec.1 and at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 We recommend accessing this lot from northbound Park Boulevard. Check back later for a link to buy your parking.

Roosevelt Middle School Parking

$40 at the event only, first-come, first-served

The Friends of Roosevelt will provide limited parking at the school for December Nights attendees. The Roosevelt parking area will be open between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 and between 1 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. Access the parking from Park Blvd. to Zoo Drive. Proceeds from parking sales support Roosevelt Middle School student programs. Get directions here.

Nearby Paid Parking Options

Serviced by free December Nights Event Shuttle

There are several paid parking options near the 3rd Avenue shuttle stop, as well as the Beech Street shuttle stop. These lots and garages are easily accessed and convenient to downtown, and with the nearby free event shuttle you can catch a free ride to December Nights. Free Parking Options In and Nearby Balboa Park

San Diego Zoo Parking Lot

Use Zoo Drive to access the parking lot from southbound Park Boulevard; note that Zoo Place will be exit only during the event. Parking is first-come, first-served. Get directions.

City College Parking Garages (nearby)

Serviced by free December Nights Event Shuttle

Access free parking at one of three City College parking garages. Spaces are first-come, first-served. Find the parking garages here:

Parking for People with Disabilities

$25 in advance, $30 at the event

For people who have state-issued disabled parking credentials, two parking lots are available at the Fleet Science Center on Space Theater Way, and at the Natural History Museum on Village Place, both of which are adjacent to the El Prado event area. Spaces are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. You must display a valid hanging placard or license plate to access the parking area. Check back later for a link to buy your parking.

Zoo Drive in front of the San Diego Zoo Administration Building also features several free disabled parking spaces. Get Directions.

Additionally, there are a limited number of disabled parking spaces in the general paid Lot A at Inspiration Point, and in the preferred paid Lot B at the Federal Lot. The preferred paid Lot B is nearby the event’s Family Zone and Palisades areas. Check back later for a link to buy your parking.
