Volcanic ash sculpture of the Last Supper, 10 x 6.5 inches, from the 1991 eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. It was the second largest volcanic eruption of the twentieth century and took place in the Philippines 55 miles northwest of the capital city of Manila. Up to 800 people were killed and 100,000 became homeless following the eruption, which climaxed with nine hours of eruption on June 15, 1991. Donated by the City of Cavite, Republic of the Philippines, a San Diego Sister City since 1969.
