11-inch silver plate with the insignia of the USS Lake Champlain, CG 57, a U.S. Navy Guided Missile Cruiser. It is the third ship to be named Lake Champlain, in honor of the Battle of Lake Champlain, which took place during the War of 1812. She was launched April 3, 1987, and commissioned August 12, 1988, at Intrepid Pier at the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum in New York City. She then steamed to her first homeport of San Diego. This was presented by the crew of the Lake Champlain.
