10-inch stuffed burro with stripes and a pink blanket. Using striped burros in Tijuana when photographing tourists started in 1940 when a Tijuana photographer visited the San Diego Zoo and then painted black stripes on his donkey to enhance his black and white tourist photos. This was donated by City of Tijuana Councilwoman Martha Leticia Castaneda Rojas, Chairman of the Committee on Border Affairs, during a meeting with Mayor Faulconer on March 27, 2014. Tijuana has been a San Diego Sister City since 1993.
