Wooden plaque, 10 x 8, with the insignia of the USS Dixon presented to the City in appreciation of its support of the United States Navy. The Dixon was a submarine tender, in service from 1971 through 1995 when decommissioned. She was sunk as a target in the Atlantic Ocean during a fleet training exercise on July 21, 2003, 360 miles southeast of Charleston, South Carolina. This was presented by the crew of the USS Dixon; occasion information was not provided to the City Clerk's office.
