Donated by Pat Buttle, Mayor of Darlington, Durham County, and accepted for Mayor Golding by Jim Caraher of Friendship Force of San Diego County, a Home Hosting International Cultural Exchange Travel Club. Their members travel throughout the world to gain insight into cultures to bring understanding to citizens. Each member who travels to another country on an exchange is an ambassador representing the ideals - friendship and goodwill across national boundaries.
